Campaign Finance Reporting
Under Texas Election Law Chapter 254 - Political Reporting, candidates, officeholders and specific-purpose committees are required to file their campaign finance reports with the City Clerk’s Office.
In compliance with H.B. 2626 (88th Legislature), Effective Sep. 1, 2023: All filed campaign finance reports are to be posted online within 10 business days of receipt. A report made available on an Internet website under this section must be accessible on that website until the fifth anniversary of the date the report is first made available.
Subject to Section 552.117 of the Texas Government Code (Texas Public Information Act), the current Officeholder's home address and home telephone number are excepted from disclosure. And, in accordance with Sections 552.024 and 552.1175 of the Texas Government Code, this same information is excepted from disclosure for individuals such as current or former officials of a government body who have filed a Public Access Form with the City Secretary.
2025 Campaign Finance Reporting Due Dates
- First Report Due (30th day before election): April 3, 2025
- Second Report Due (8th day before election): April 25, 2025
- If filed modified reporting and exceed $1,080 in contributions/expenses: Immediately
- Semiannual Report Due: Jan. 15, 2025 (only if C/OH-FR has not been filed following election)
- Semiannual Report Due: July 15, 2025 (only if C/OH-FR has not been filed following election)
